She's Pregnant

Pregnant Belly

You just heard she's pregnant and you are freaking out! You barely know what to say or do. She’s nauseated, she is going through mood swings and you are caught in between them. What do you do?

No, you do not send her away to your mother in law, but you stick in there and help her through it. Studies show that a majority of pregnant women feel most comfortable with their partners. In more cases than not, you are probably the only one who can make her feel better.

It is not as difficult as it seems. By doing and saying the right things at the right time, you should be able to get through the 40 weeks alright.

1. When she says she says she’s feeling down and doesn’t feel like doing anything, it basically means she’s feeling lonely and wants to spend some time with you. So try cheer her up by doing something fun she likes to do.

2. She is hungry and up late at night. She is craving for the weirdest meals at the oddest hours. Don't just turn her down. If its available either at home or at the closest restaurant, then try getting it for her. You satisfy her craving and she’ll thank you for it by not having mood swings.

3. Read and learn about pregnancy as much as you can. Knowing what may happen in the months to come will help both you and your partner.

4. Give her a back rub every time she complains about her back. Pregnancy can be very strenuous on her lower back so try and ease a little of her pain.

5. Weeks passed and she is not looking anything like the woman you married or were dating. She’s packed on weight and she’s definitely got rounder. She knows it, and you know it. You do not rub it in her face nor do you agree with her when she mentions it. Instead, you remind her everyday of how good she looks. Even if its a big fat lie.

6. Life goes on the same for you, but for her, she has to stop most of her activities. She’ll become more passive and cranky. Take her out. She needs a break. A movie, fancy dinner, or even a holiday.

7. DO NOT miss your doctor visits. Show her you are responsible now. Show her you are ready. At a time like this, most pregnant women wonder if their men are ready for the heavy load coming on (no pun intended).
